Welcome to my online store

My handmade leather watch straps are made in parallel widths and are generally between 3mm – 5mm thick. Every aspect of the manufacture of a Toshi Strap is undertaken by hand using traditional techniques – the result is a watch strap that I fully expect will give you good service for many years to come.

Every strap is hand stitched using a 4-ply waxed linen thread, and there are 20 colours of thread available to choose from when you order a strap.

Although I am first and foremost a strap maker I carry a number of items associated with watch straps in stock, so if you have come here looking for a buckle or a spring bar tool I can help too. Click on one of the categories below to see what’s available, and if you see something you like you can click on it for more detailed information. You can also check out my gallery for some inspiration.

I aim to have your strap built and shipped within 5 weeks of receiving your order and payment. This lead time will vary depending on how busy I am when you place your order, but I will always give you a firm dispatch date when I confirm your order.

  • Candy

    From £120.00
Candy leather is something a little different, and one that will get noticed. It's a full veg tanned Italian leather in a soft blush colour with a matt finish. It's a soft & pliable leather, so makes a watch strap that's comfortable from the start. If you're bored of the usual brown and black straps then this could be the one for you. The strap shown is made with natural stitching. Now I don't want to preach, but this is the right choice of thread for this leather. Of course you can have a Candy strap stitched with any of the 20 thread colours I have in stock, but natural looks the best IMO. To see the options for thread colour see the stitching colours page. Straps produced with Candy leather will be approx 4.5mm thick and are priced as follows: £120 with a free spring bar buckle £125 with a sewn in buckle £130 with a screw bar buckle
  • Cherry Bomb

    From £100.00
Cherry Bomb is one of the thinner leathers that I use (a Cherry Bomb strap will come out at just 2mm thick), but don't be fooled, it is a very strong leather and will hold up to serious wear. It's a high shine cherry colour with a crackled glaze. The strap photographed for this page was stitched with natural thread. To see the options for thread colour see the stitching colours page. Straps produced with Cherry Bomb leather will be approx 2mm thick and are priced as follows: £100 with a free spring bar buckle £105 with a sewn in buckle £110 with a screw bar buckle
  • Harlequin

    From £100.00
Harlequin is a fully veg tanned Italian leather, embossed with a diamond pattern. It has a matt finish and a soft, pliable handle. It's a lovely dark turquoise colour, and makes a great strap. • King Kudu

    From £130.00
King Kudu is a kudu leather with a full aniline finish, which allows the character of the leather to shine through. It has a lovely golden brown tone and is super strong and pliable - perfect for a watch strap. I've been using kudu leather for my watch straps for many years now because of it's characteristics, and this tannage is one of the best I've found. Highly recommended! Kudu are antelope that live in dense brush or forest in the African Savanna, one of the harshest environments on earth, and are prey to preditors such as leopards and hyenas. The kudu skins used to produce this leather exibit some scars and marks from the animals hard life. As a result no two kudu leather straps will look the same, ensuring your strap will be unique. As is the case with all the kudu leather I use, the skins are the result of the seasonal kudu cull mandated by the South African government. The strap photographed for this page was stitched with butterscotch thread. Light brown and natural threads look great with this leather, too. To see all the options for thread colour see the stitching colours page. Straps produced with King Kudu leather will be approx 4mm thick and are priced as follows: £130 with a free spring bar buckle £135 with a sewn in buckle £140 with a screw bar buckle
  • Kiwi

    From £120.00
Kiwi leather is something a little different. It's a full veg tanned leather I found in a leather wholesaler in the summer, and it is one for anyone who likes a colourful strap. The leather is hard wearing yet supple, and has a pronounced grain pattern that works so well with the vivid lime colour. There is no doubt about it, this will get comments! The strap shown is made with natural stitching, but I've made Kiwi straps with grey, bright yellow and light brown stitching too, and they all work. To see the options for thread colour see the stitching colours page. Straps produced with Kiwi leather will be approx 3.5mm thick and are priced as follows: £120 with a free spring bar buckle £125 with a sewn in buckle £130 with a screw bar buckle
  • Marlin

    From £100.00
Marlin is a veg tanned patent leather I came across recently on my travels. I loved the colour of this hide, and although it doesn't have the high gloss finish normally associated with patent leather, it does have a shine to it. It's a strong and hard wearing leather that works beautifully with a large watch. I leave the edges natural with this one as it look so much better for it. I hope you like it. The strap photographed for this page was stitched with pale blue thread, but if you want something different then natural & grey stitching work well too. To see the options for thread colour see the stitching colours page. Straps produced with Marlin leather will be approx 4.5mm thick and are priced as follows: £100 with a free spring bar buckle £105 with a sewn in buckle £110 with a screw bar buckle

  • I recently went to visit a leather wholesaler who supplies the French fashion house Hermès with leather for their leathergoods. I managed to convince him to sell me a small amount of "Ultraviolet", a strong, deep purple leather usually made into Birkin / Kelly handbags - and now available for me to make your Toshi Strap with. This is a leather that is certainly not readily available (and I probably won't be able to get any more once it's gone) so I'm listing it as a "limited edition". As a result, each Ultraviolet strap will come with a signed letter from me stating the date your strap was made and giving it a production number. The strap photographed for this page was stitched with lavender thread for a low contrast look. This is my favourite thread colour for this leather, but natural and grey thread look great with it too. To see the options for thread colour see the stitching colours page. Straps produced with Ultraviolet leather will be approx 3.5mm thick and are priced as follows:   £130 with a free spring bar buckle £135 with a sewn in buckle £140 with a screw bar buckle
  • Anthracite is an oiled goat skin leather, fully vegetable tanned and given an antiqued finish in the tanning process. Sister leather to Heidrun, it's wonderfully soft and characterful in grey with black highlights. I only have a small amount of this leather so I'm listing it as a "limited edition". As a result, each Anthracite strap will come with a signed letter from me stating the date your strap was made and giving it a production number. The strap photographed for this page was stitched with grey thread for a low contrast look. This is my favourite thread colour for this leather, but natural and pale blue thread look great with it too. To see the options for thread colour see the stitching colours page. Straps produced with Anthracite leather will be approx 3.5mm thick and are priced as follows: £120 with a free spring bar buckle £125 with a sewn in buckle £130 with a screw bar buckle
  • This kudu leather is from a short run produced by a UK based tannery. It has been dyed a beautiful light brown / sand colour. It is a pliable, full grain leather with bags of character, and I personally love it! I have been lucky enough to buy a small amount of this leather and I am making it available as a "limited edition". As a result, each Desert Kudu strap will come with a signed letter from me stating the date your strap was made and giving it a production number. The strap photographed for this page was stitched with natural thread. Light brown and butterscotch thread look great too. To see the options for thread colour see the stitching colours page. Straps produced with Desert Kudu leather will be approx 4mm thick and are priced as follows: £120 with a free spring bar buckle £125 with a sewn in buckle £130 with a screw bar buckle

The strap shown is made with natural stitching, which I think is perfect with this leather. To see the options for thread colour see the stitching colours page. Straps produced with Ginger leather will be approx 4.5mm thick and are priced as follows: £120 with a free spring bar buckle £125 with a sewn in buckle £130 with a screw bar buckle
  • Redwood

    From £100.00
Redwood is what is known as a "crazy horse" leather. It's a heavyweight, full grain leather that is treated with oils after tanning to produce a product that is hardwearing yet supple, and which will develop a fabulous patina as it ages. Redwood is a lovely dark reddish brown colour with a slight pull-up. It is the perfect leather for a watch strap. Confusing as it may sound, "crazy horse" leather is not a horse leather, it's actually made from cow hides. It's called "crazy horse" because being supple and very hardwearing it was traditionally used in the manufacture of horse saddles. The strap photographed for this page was stitched with natural thread (which I personally think works best with Redwood), but black and grey stitching also work well. If you want something that will stand out then bright yellow stitching is something to consider. To see the options for thread colour see the stitching colours page. Straps produced with Redwood leather will be approx 4.5mm thick and are priced as follows: £100 with a free spring bar buckle £105 with a sewn in buckle £110 with a screw bar buckle

  • This is a fabulous leather produced from African kudu skins in a stunning deep, rich brown colour. If you are looking for a strap with character then this is one for you! Shamen is a very soft, full grain kudu leather that is just perfect for a watch strap. Kudu live in dense brush or forest in the African Savanna, one of the harshest environments on earth, and are prey to preditors such as leopards and hyenas. The kudu skins used to produce this leather exibit all the scars and marks of the animals hard life, as a result no two kudu leather straps will look the same, ensuring your strap will be unique. I have been lucky enough to buy a small amount of this leather and I am making it available as a "limited edition". As a result, each Shamen strap will come with a signed letter from me stating the date your strap was made and giving it a production number. As is the case with all the kudu leather I use, the skins are the result of the seasonal kudu cull mandated by the South African government. • Bramble

    From £100.00
Bramble is a heavy weight, full grain kudu leather with a more classic, semi-gloss appearance than the other kudu leathers I use. It is beautifully soft and pliable from the start and makes a very comfortable watch strap. Kudu live in dense brush or forest in the African savanna, one of the harshest environments on earth, and are prey to preditors such as leopards and hyenas. The kudu skins used to produce this leather exibit all the scars and marks of the animals hard life. Being a full grain leather, any scars on the animals skin will be visable, although as the product is natural no two pieces of leather are the same and so the scarring will be more visable on some straps than others. This means that no two kudu leather straps will look the same, ensuring your strap will be unique. As is the case with all the kudu leather I use, the skins are the result of the seasonal kudu cull mandated by the South African government. Antique Green is a fully vegetable tanned leather that I think is just wonderful. Produced by a small tannery in northern Europe, this leather goes through a lengthy tanning process incorporating natural oils and animal fats before being dyed a deep olive green. The finished product makes a watch strap that is supple from the first wear and will build patina over time. If you are considering a green strap I recommend this whole heartedly - it has bags of character. • Dark Kudu

    From £120.00
Available again, Dark Kudu was a hugely popular leather that I ran out of in 2019. It proved very difficult to find more and for a while I thought it would never be available again, but I've been able to source another couple of skins of this wonderful leather. Dark Kudu is a soft, pliable leather with bags of character. This leather is darker than the African Kudu leather I also use, as it has had a brown dye applied during the tanning process. The strap photographed for this page was stitched with natural thread, but butterscotch & light brown stitching will work well with this leather too. Straps produced with Dark Kudu leather will be approx 5mm thick and are priced as follows: £120 with a free spring bar buckle £125 with a sewn in buckle £130 with a screw bar buckle

  • Cognac

    From £130.00
Cognac is something rather special. It is a shell cordovan leather produced by Chicago based tannery Horween, but unlike most shell cordovan they produce this has been given a hatch grain imprint. Please note – all the shell cordovan leather I use comes from the Horween tannery in the USA Straps produced with Cognac leather will be approx 4mm thick and are priced as follows: £130 with a free spring bar buckle £135 with a sewn in buckle £140 with a screw bar buckle

This is a pure veg tanned cow hide with a fine grain and a clean matt appearance. If you want a black leather with some character this comes highly recommended. • African Kudu

    From £120.00
This is something a bit different. Kudu are wild antelopes that live on the plains of Africa. They are very hardy animals, living through both the tough arid seasons as well as the lush rainy seasons and these hides show every scar related to life in one of the wildest part of the world. This means your strap will be unique - the markings ensure that no two African Kudu straps will look the same. This African Kudu leather is very soft, and is left un-dyed to retain the natural look of the leather, scars and all. If you're looking for something very rustic but extremely comfortable then this is one for you. As is the case with all the kudu leather I use, the skins are the result of the seasonal kudu cull mandated by the South African government. The strap photographed for this page was stitched with natural thread, but butterscotch & light brown stitching will work well with this leather too. • Rodeo

    From £120.00
This is a leather I am very excited about. It is a veg tanned horse hide from Horween and is available in a limited quantity only. It’s beautifully soft and supple, and has a deep richness to it. Personally I think it is perfect with dark brown thread, but works well with natural, grey, or even royal blue or emerald green thread too. Straps produced with Rodeo leather will be approx 4mm thick and are priced as follows: £120 with a free spring bar buckle £125 with a sewn in buckle £130 with a screw bar buckle
  • Shell cordovan is a very rare and special leather and makes a beautiful watch strap. It is a horse hide, tanned by hand over a 6 month period, and offered here in the traditional dark burgundy colour (known as Horween # 8) which looks fabulous with grey thread. Please note – all the shell cordovan leather I use comes from the Horween tannery in the USA Straps produced with Burgundy Shell Cordovan leather will be approx 4mm thick and are priced as follows: £130 with a free spring bar buckle £135 with a sewn in buckle £140 with a screw bar buckle
  • Crimson

    From £85.00
This is a heavily grained dark red leather which has an antique look to it. It will work well with red stitching, but I prefer it with a contrast stitch colour like grey or denim. Straps produced with Crimson leather will be approx 4mm thick and are priced as follows: £85 with a free spring bar buckle £90 with a sewn in buckle £95 with a screw bar buckle
  • Bubble Gum

    From £90.00
Bubble gum is a thick nubuck leather strap. Soft and supple, it is another leather available in limited quantity and something a bit different. It looks great on a big watch, with either natural, denim, grey, lavender or black thread. Certainly not for the feint hearted, but sure to get noticed. Straps produced with Bubble Gum leather will be approx 4.5mm thick and are priced as follows: £90 with a free spring bar buckle £95 with a sewn in buckle £100 with a screw bar buckle
  • Walnut

    From £90.00
Walnut is something a bit different. When I first saw this I fell in love with the grain. It is a thick buffalo leather and looks stunning on a large watch. Light brown or natural stitching is perfect, but almost anything goes with this one. Straps produced with Walnut leather will be approx 4.5mm thick and are priced as follows: £90 with a free spring bar buckle £95 with a sewn in buckle £100 with a screw bar buckle
  • Chestnut

    From £90.00
Chestnut is a lovely warm brown aniline dyed calf leather with a full grain and brilliant sheen. This leather is very soft and is comfortable from the start. In my opinion it looks great with grey stitching, but works equally well with dark brown, light brown or natural stitching too. • Serpent

    From £85.00
Serpent is a thin, soft & pliable calf leather with a snake print pattern and a matt finish. I won’t use exotic skins for my straps, but the chance to use a calf leather with an effective snake skin print was something I couldn’t pass on. White, natural or grey stitching work well with this leather, but royal blue would look great too. Straps produced with Serpent leather will be approx 3mm thick and are priced as follows: £85 with a free spring bar buckle £90 with a sewn in buckle £95 with a screw bar buckle
  • Havana

  • Sage

    From £85.00
Sage is a soft calf leather with a tight grain and sheen. This leather needs no breaking in and wears very comfortably. Screwdriver in stainless steel for Panerai Luminor. This screwdriver has a 1.6mm cutout end similar to that of the OEM screwdriver that comes with the Luminor watches, and is made for Luminor screw bars. Please note - although this screwdriver is not designed for bracelet screws, if you plan on using this screwdriver to remove screws from a bracelet, please be mindful that often manufacturers use a thread lock glue when putting bracelets together. It is therefore always wise to warm the bracelet screw before un-screwing to loosen the bond (I would suggest using hot water or a hair dryer are the best ways to do this).
  • Set of steel tubes and screws for Panerai Luminor. These are high quality and made to OEM specification. One set comprises of two tubes and two screw bars.

If you have a Luminor and want to replace the screw bars with spring bars for easier strap changing, or find the screw threads are stripped and will no longer tighten properly, these are ideal. Please note - these spring bars are only suitable for Panerai Luminor watches using the screw bar strap attachment system. Each pack comprises of two spring bars.
