Cognac is something rather special. It is a shell cordovan leather produced by Chicago based tannery Horween, but unlike most shell cordovan they produce this has been given a hatch grain imprint. I managed to secure a small quantity of this leather in their classic “number 8” colour (a rich reddish brown / burgundy), and it makes a fabulous watch strap.
Please note – all the shell cordovan leather I use comes from the Horween tannery in the USA
The strap photographed for this page was stitched with dark brown thread, but natural, grey & butterscotch stitching also go well with it, too. To see the options for thread colour see the stitching colours page.
Straps produced with Cognac leather will be approx 4mm thick.
