Buckles

The buckles I stock fall broadly into two main style categories, Pre-V buckles (sometimes called "fishtail" buckles) which are normally associated with Panerai and Anonimo watches, and the more traditional “thumbnail” style buckles, which I believe better suit a narrower watch strap.

As well as the style of the buckle, when you place an order you will be asked to choose the fitting type i.e. how the buckle is attached to the strap. There are three main fitting types –

spring bar buckles – these are good looking, well made buckles that attach to the strap with a spring bar. This allows quick & easy removal and fitting. They are available in both thumbnail and Pre-V style.

sewn in buckles – these are sewn into the strap during its manufacture. They are the most secure as there is no bar to come loose, but unlike spring bar and screw bar buckles they can’t be removed from the strap. Sewn in buckles are only available in Pre-V style.

screw bar buckles – these are heavier duty buckles than the spring bar versions, attaching to the strap with a screw bar. Screw bar buckles are available in both thumbnail and Pre-V style.
