Strap width & length
Strap measurements
When you place an order for one of my straps, I build it to your specifications. To do that, I need to know the strap width and length you require. This page should help you determine the correct size for your watch and wrist.
The strap width is determined by the lug width of the watch the strap is to be fitted to. If you are unsure what strap width you need for your watch please contact me before you order and let me know the make and model of your watch – I should be able to offer some advice.
The strap length is expressed like this – "130/80". In this example the strap is 130mm long at the tongue side, and 80mm long at the buckle side (this measurement is the strap only i.e. it does not include the buckle itself).
The ideal strap length depends on your wrist size. Because each strap is made to order, I can make it in any length you need. If you have a particularly large or small wrist, I can build a strap that fits you properly.
Of course, strap length is often a personal preference — some people like a longer tail, others prefer very little. But if you’d like my suggestions, here are my recommended lengths based on wrist size:
6.0 – 6.5″ (150 – 164mm) wrist = 120/70
6.6 – 7.0″ (165 – 178mm) wrist = 125/75
7.1 – 7.5″ (179 – 190mm) wrist = 130/80
7.6 – 8.0″ (191 – 203mm) wrist = 135/80
8.1 – 8.5″ (204 – 216mm) wrist = 140/85
8.6 – 9.0″ (217 – 229mm) wrist = 145/90
When you place an order, if you want a length that isn’t listed above, simply select “custom” from the strap‑length drop down and specify the exact length you want in the order notes at checkout. When I email to confirm your order, I’ll confirm the length with you.
Please note – the sizes suggested above might be slightly longer than you are used to, but it’s worth remembering that because my straps are usually around 4mm thick they will wear slightly shorter than thinner straps.
