Black Shell Cordovan
Black Shell Cordovan
£140.00
Shell Cordovan is a very rare and special leather. It is made from the shell of a horse (the “shell” is the fibrous muscle beneath the skin on the rump). The process of creating shell cordovan leather is done by hand, has many stages and takes 6-8 months from start to finish. It creates a leather that is strong & durable, but also very beautiful.
Please note – all the shell cordovan leather I use comes from the Horween tannery in the USA.
The strap photographed for this page was stitched with butterscotch thread, but natural, grey & olive drab stitching also work very well. To see the options for thread colour see the stitching colours page.
Straps produced with Black Shell Cordovan leather will be approx 4mm thick.
