At the beginning of the year I met up with a good friend and fellow watch collector for lunch, and during our conversation he commented on how international Toshi Straps has become over the 10 years I’ve been making watch straps. We’ve known each other a long time and he remembers when I started (he was one of the first people I ever made a watch strap for), and he told me he’d recently been in Hong Kong on business and found the person he was doing business with was wearing one of my straps too!

That got me thinking. When I first launched Toshi Straps the orders I received came mainly from word of mouth, so most of my straps either went to friends, or to friends of friends. Things have changed of course, and I’ve obviously known for some time now that I now have customers all over the world, but I thought it might be interesting to view my customers on a map to see exactly how far some of my straps travel when they are finished.

Last month I did exactly that. I started plotting my customer’s locations from the orders I received on a map. This wasn’t something I planned on publishing, but I’ve found it fascinating and so I thought I would share it here (I hope some of you are also interested to see it!). The map below roughly pin points the location of each and every one of my customers who placed an order with me in March 2017:

Please note – if you placed an order last month don’t be alarmed, I have only used your post code to produce this map so your identity and address remains completely confidential.
