Crimson leather watch strap with denim stitching - handmade by Toshi Straps

About a week ago I decided that my Panerai zero needed a new strap for the Spring, and a few days ago I finished this Crimson strap with denim stitching. Crimson has become one of my “go to” leathers over the last couple of years. I’ve made straps for many of my watches from it and I think it’s beautiful, both to wear and to look at. This morning as I was putting my watch on however I started thinking that of all the leathers I have ever made straps from, Crimson could well be the most under estimated and over-looked. It’s never been a best-seller in the same way that Storm Grey or African Kudu have been, but I think it really should be. The only reason I can come up with is that it’s red – I’m convinced that if it were a brown leather it would have sold out long before now, so come on everyone – try something different (I highly recommend this leather).

Crimson is a very soft, vegetable tanned, top grain buffalo leather with a dark red colour and a beautiful grain. Straps produced with Crimson leather are approximately 4mm thick – so perfect for one of my straps. I prefer low contrast stitching on straps I make for myself, so I would suggest denim (as shown here), grey or pale blue thread is used to stitch the strap, but it works well with natural, white or royal blue thread too.

So here it is on the watch, and on my wrist. Comfortable from the very start and looks fabulous!

So to try to tempt you all, from now until the end of May you can use the coupon code MAY15 at the checkout to get £15 off a Crimson strap. It may be red, but I strongly recommend this one and I think you’ll love it!

To get £15 off your order simply type the coupon code MAY15 into the box at the top of the checkout page and click the blue “apply coupon” button. Providing there is a Crimson strap in your shopping cart you will then see £15 is deducted from the cart total. Please note the code is MAY15 – there is no space between “May” and “15”
