Welcome to my online store

My handmade leather watch straps are made in parallel widths and are generally between 3mm – 5mm thick. Every aspect of the manufacture of a Toshi Strap is undertaken by hand using traditional techniques – the result is a watch strap that I fully expect will give you good service for many years to come.

Every strap is hand stitched using a 4-ply waxed linen thread, and there are 20 colours of thread available to choose from when you order a strap.

Although I am first and foremost a strap maker I carry a number of items associated with watch straps in stock, so if you have come here looking for a buckle or a spring bar tool I can help too. I aim to have your strap built and shipped within 5 weeks of receiving your order and payment. This lead time will vary depending on how busy I am when you place your order, but I will always give you a firm dispatch date when I confirm your order.

Spring bars for Panerai Luminor

These spring bars are made to replace the screw bars found in many Panerai Luminor models. If you have a Luminor and want to replace the screw bars with spring bars for easier strap changing, or find the screw threads are stripped and will no longer tighten properly, these are ideal. Please note - these spring bars are only suitable for Panerai Luminor watches using the screw bar strap attachment system. Each pack comprises of two spring bars.

Strap Adapters for Apple Watch

These strap adapters will enable you to fit a standard watch strap to your Apple Watch. The strap attaches to the adapters by way of a spring bar (supplied), and the adapter simply slides into the groove in the Apple Watch. Bar pins for Panerai Luminor

1.6mm screwdriver for Panerai Luminor

Screwdriver in stainless steel ideal for Panerai Luminor screw bars. This aftermarket screwdriver has a 1.6mm cutout end similar to that of the OEM screwdriver that comes with the Luminor watches, and is made for Luminor screw bars. Please note - this screwdriver is designed for Panerai Luminor screw bars. If you plan on using this screwdriver to remove screws from a bracelet, please be mindful that often manufacturers use a thread lock glue when putting bracelets together. It is therefore always wise to warm the bracelet screw before un-screwing to loosen the bond (I would suggest using hot water or a hair dryer are the best ways to do this).

Metta

Metta is a veg tanned calf leather made with a diamond pattern imprint and treated with beech oil to resemble the famous deerskin leather found in the wreck of the Metta Catharina in 1973. It is a soft and pliable leather that I think works perfectly with natural stitching. Sage

Sage is a soft calf leather with a tight grain and sheen. This leather needs no breaking in and wears very comfortably. In my opinion a light thread colour works best with this leather, so white, natural or grey are best. This is a very soft and pliable leather that needs no breaking in. It looks great with either denim or grey stitching, but would work with most stitch colours. This is a heavily grained dark red leather which has an antique look to it. It will work well with red stitching, but I prefer it with a contrast stitch colour like grey or denim. Jaffa

Jaffa is a bright orange Italian calf hide which is guaranteed to get you noticed. It has a very fine grain and makes a lovely comfortable strap. Combine it with natural or black stitching if you want some contrast, or grey if you aren’t that brave! Liquorice

Liquorice is a heavy weight steer hide, waxed and drum stuffed to produce a rugged yet supple leather that makes a great watch strap. If you want a black leather strap with some texture then this is the one for you! It combines with any colour stitching, but my preference is for grey, red, royal blue or emerald green. Military Green

Military green is a beautifully soft and pliable calf leather with a tight grain. I prefer this with grey stitching, but it works really well with light brown and natural thread too, or olive drab if you want low contrast in the stitching. Ocean blue is a heavily grained and very soft calf leather in a vibrant blue colour. The leather works best with grey, natural or denim thread, but would also work well with bright yellow or red thread. Serpent

Serpent is a thin, soft & pliable calf leather with a snake print pattern and a matt finish. I won’t use exotic skins for my straps, but the chance to use a calf leather with an effective snake skin print was something I couldn’t pass on. White, natural or grey stitching work well with this leather, but royal blue would look great too. Denim

When I first saw this leather I knew what I'd call it because it reminds me so much of a faded pair of denim jeans. It's a veg tanned calf leather - very soft and supple with a matte finish. The strap photographed for this page was stitched with butterscotch thread, but if you want something different then grey, natural and olive drab will work too. Arctic is a full grain buffalo calf leather in white. Fully vegetable tanned and lovely and soft, it makes a lovely strap. The strap photographed for this page was stitched with white thread, which I personally think is the only way to go with this leather. Papaya is one of my favourites – a rich brown fully veg tanned cow hide with a slight reddish tint. It sets off black dialled watches perfectly, and goes best with black, grey or natural stitching. A soft leather that works best with natural stitching IMO, but it can also be combined with olive drab, black, emerald green and light brown thread to good effect. Lime

Lime is a very soft steer hide with a silky touch and in a great colour – perfect if you want a casual look. It’s one of my personal favourites and it looks amazing on a big watch. My preference is to combine it with olive drab stitching as in the photos below, but it works well with natural and grey stitching too. Arancio is a lovely dark orange calf leather. This leather is very soft with a lovely sheen and full grain texture. Bubble Gum

Bubble gum is a thick nubuck leather strap. Soft and supple, it is another leather available in limited quantity and something a bit different. It looks great on a big watch, with either natural, denim, grey, lavender or black thread. Certainly not for the feint hearted, but sure to get noticed. Chestnut is a lovely warm brown aniline dyed calf leather with a full grain and brilliant sheen. This leather is very soft and is comfortable from the start. In my opinion it looks great with grey stitching, but works equally well with dark brown, light brown or natural stitching too. I’ve been looking for a replacement for the saddle leather since it ran out and I think I’ve found something even better. Honey leather is a golden coloured veg tanned horse hide. It is beautifully soft and pliable with a gorgeous texture and builds a lovely patina. I favour natural stitching with this one, but it also looks great with grey thread. Walnut is something a bit different. When I first saw this I fell in love with the grain. It is a thick buffalo leather and looks stunning on a large watch. Light brown or natural stitching is perfect, but almost anything goes with this one. Aqua

Aqua is an oiled, aniline leather with a matt finish and a very slight pull-up. It has been produced by one of the foremost tanneries in Italy for over 50 years - I just had to have some when I found it was available. The strap photographed for this page was stitched with teal thread, but grey, natural, royal blue and butterscotch work well with it, too. This is a medium weight full grain Italian cow side and one of the softest leathers I work with. It has a very slight pull up and is a very soft and comfortable watch strap. The strap photographed for this page was stitched with light brown thread, but natural, butterscotch and olive drab will work well too. Badlands is a vegetable tanned steer hide with a rugged, antiqued finish. It's a very pliable leather and comfortable to wear from the start. Sahara is a lovely soft sand coloured veg tanned leather with a full grain. It's a very pliable leather and comfortable to wear from the start. Typhoon

Typhoon is a very dark navy blue vegetable tanned leather with a flat, matt finish and a slight pull-up. It has a tight grain and wears very well. The strap photographed for this page was stitched with grey thread, but it will work equally well with natural, or any of the blue thread colours too. Nautilus

I've been looking for a black leather with a flat matt finish for the last couple of years, and finally I've found one. This is a pure veg tanned cow hide with a fine grain and a clean matt appearance. The strap photographed for this page was stitched with grey thread, but it also looks perfect with black stitching for a really stealthy look (being black of course it will go with any colour thread, but grey or black is my preference with this leather). It is a lovely matte brown colour, soft as butter and makes a truly stunning strap. Horween Derby is one of my personal favourites. It is a full grain, veg tanned steer hide with a lovely soft feel from the Chicago based tannery. Nero is actually black Horween Derby. i.e. it is the same leather, but during the tanning process it has been dyed black. It is a full grain, fully vegetable tanned steer hide from Horween of Chicago. Treated with waxes and oils during the tanning process it makes a beautiful strap. If you want a black leather with some character this comes highly recommended. Essex is another leather from the Chicago based tannery, Horween. It's a pure vegetable tanned cow leather that is beautifully soft, and is produced using the same traditional tanning extracts as Horween's Genuine Shell Cordovan. This has already become one of my personal favourites and ages beautifully. Horween Essex works beautifully with natural stitching on any black dialled watch. The strap photographed for this page is stitched with natural linen thread - which in my humble opinion is the best option as it shows the leather off beautifully. Brutal

Brutal is a luxurious dark brown tobacco coloured bovine leather produced by a tannery in Tuscany, Italy. It is a fully vegetable tanned leather, produced using tanning techniques centuries old. The hides are tanned in a wooden drum using tree bark, oils and animal fats, before being dyed and polished with a roll of amber stone. This is a beautiful leather for a watch strap that will build patina as it ages. The strap photographed for this page was stitched using grey linen thread, but light brown, dark brown, natural and butterscotch stitching also work very well. Produced in Italy, this full grain bovine leather has a firm texture and makes a stunning watch strap that will develop a lovely patina with wear. One of the thinner leathers I use, but strong and hard wearing. Bramble

Bramble is a heavy weight, full grain kudu leather with a more classic, semi-gloss appearance than the other kudu leathers I use. It is beautifully soft and pliable from the start and makes a very comfortable watch strap. Kudu live in dense brush or forest in the African savanna, one of the harshest environments on earth, and are prey to preditors such as leopards and hyenas. The kudu skins used to produce this leather exibit all the scars and marks of the animals hard life. Being a full grain leather, any scars on the animals skin will be visable, although as the product is natural no two pieces of leather are the same and so the scarring will be more visable on some straps than others. This means that no two kudu leather straps will look the same, ensuring your strap will be unique. As is the case with all the kudu leather I use, the skins are the result of the seasonal kudu cull mandated by the South African government. The Bramble strap photographed for this page was stitched with grey thread, but natural, black and light brown threads all look good with this leather. Orange Crush

Orange Crush is a pure vegetable tanned cow leather produced by a small tannery just outside Florence, Italy. It is a stunning orange coloured leather with an embossed hatch grain finish. It is a little stiff initially, but once broken in becomes a comfortable and hard wearing strap that will patinate beautifully over time as it ages. The Orange Crush strap photographed for this page was stitched with bright yellow thread, but natural or grey thread look good with this leather, too. Quarterback

Quarterback is another leather from the Horween tannery in Chicago, and is actually one of their oldest leathers. Anyone who watches American football may well recognise the pebbled texture - this leather has been used to make the official NFL footballs for the last 60 years, and I've decided to make watch straps with it! It's one of the thicker leathers I use but very supple for a thick strap. I've chosen it in a lovely almond colour - I hope you like it. The strap photographed for this page was stitched with natural thread which I personally think works best, but if you want something different then grey, pale blue and olive drab will work too. Redwood

Redwood is what is known as a "crazy horse" leather. It's a heavyweight, full grain leather that is treated with oils after tanning to produce a product that is hardwearing yet supple, and which will develop a fabulous patina as it ages. Redwood is a lovely dark reddish brown colour with a slight pull-up. It is the perfect leather for a watch strap. Confusing as it may sound, "crazy horse" leather is not a horse leather, it's actually made from cow hides. It's called "crazy horse" because being supple and very hardwearing it was traditionally used in the manufacture of horse saddles. The strap photographed for this page was stitched with natural thread (which I personally think works best with Redwood), but black and grey stitching also work well.
