Scarlet is a beautifully soft classic vachetta leather produced by a small independent tannery located in Tuscany. This small tannery uses bovine shoulders, putting them through a fully vegetable tanning process before “tumbling” them in a drum, producing a leather with this wonderful pebbled finish. Scarlet is soft and pliable from the start, and makes for a wonderful strap.
If you like the look of this leather but red isn’t for you, I bought some in blue too – see Indigo.
The strap shown is made with natural stitching, but butterscotch, grey and bright yellow work well, too. To see the options for thread colour see the stitching colours page.
Straps produced with Scarlet leather will be approx 5mm thick and are priced as follows:
£120 with a free spring bar buckle
£125 with a sewn in buckle
£130 with a screw bar buckle
