Gunpowder leather just launched, and a promotion to celebrate!
I've just released a new leather called Gunpowder to my web store, and I am very, very excited about it. To celebrate I have decided to offer an early bird discount on Gunpowder leather until the end of the weekend (see the bottom of this blog post for details of the promotion).
3 years ago I sold out of a very popular leather. "Storm Grey" had become phenomenally popular with my customers (it was possibly the most popular leather I've ever had - you'll find numerous customer photographs in the gallery of Storm Grey straps). It had also become one of my all time personal favourites, but although I had tried I could not find any more. As a result I had no choice but to remove it from the web store when the last strap was ordered, and I have spent the last 3 years trying to find something to replace it with.
10 days ago a contact in Europe sent me a few samples of veg tanned leathers produced by a small independent tannery in Italy he'd recently visited. I wasn't expecting the samples, but he had picked up some samples from a visit to the tannery and thought some could be of interest to me for my watch straps. One of the samples was a piece of a dark grey veg tanned leather that had me very interested. The result was that (through my contact) I had a chat with the tannery and placed an order, and a few days ago it arrived. It is gorgeous!
I've named it "Gunpowder", and it is a pure vegetable tanned leather. The tanning process takes months and incorporates only natural ingredients but the result is something really quite special - a truly luxurious dark grey leather with a matte / naked finish and a distinct pull up (i.e. it gets lighter when it is folded). It is exactly what I have been hoping to find for the last 3 years. I have absolutely no doubts that Gunpowder is going to be a popular choice, so I've launched it with an early bird promotional offer for this weekend only - see below
