Panerai 190 Radiomir on handmade leather watch strap by Toshi Straps

One of the things I’ll be doing in this blog is to show you some of my watches. I was a watch collector long before I made my first strap, and so it seems fitting to show you some of my favourite watches from my collection. As I’m best known for making straps for Panerai, I suppose I should start with one.

Without a doubt my favourite Panerai Radiomir is the 45mm PAM190. It was manufactured for two years only (between 2004-2006) and incorporates a fabulous movement – a hand wound 8 day movement manufactured by Jaeger-LeCoultre. I think Panerai really got it right with this watch, everything is in proportion and anyone who has wound this watch will know what a beautiful  movement the JLC is.

I believe that with Panerai less really is more, so keeping the dial clean and putting the power reserve indicator on the back of the watch was the right decision for me. As for what strap suits it best, well anything goes, but I tend to wear mine most on the Caramel strap I made for it when I bought it back in 2010.
