Over the last couple of months I’ve made myself several new straps to refresh my personal strap collection. Last night I was thinking and I realised that there are five straps that are getting almost all of my “wrist time” at the moment. These five seem to have become my top 5 personal favourites. I’ve decided this morning to run a small promotion on these five leathers during the month of May, saving you £10 off any of them, plus a bigger saving if you order more than one strap at the same time. Maybe you’ve considered one of these five in the past? I’m confident you will love them as much as I obviously do and so I’m hopeful this promotion will entice you to order one of them for yourself. I’m sure you won’t be disappointed.

During the month of May 2021, if you place an order that contains at least one strap from these five personal favourites, you can use a coupon code at the checkout to get £10 off your order (if you order one strap), £30 off your order (if you order two straps), or £60 off your order (if you order three or more straps). Not all the straps have to be one of the five to qualify, but there does need to be at least one of them in the order. The coupon codes are published at the bottom of this blog post along with the inevitable T&Cs.

So, which leathers are my five personal favourites?

In no particular order, the five leathers that I have been wearing the most since the beginning of the year are:

Flame

This is a leather I’ve had for some time now, and late last year I made a Flame strap with red stitching that I started wearing on my “24”. A month ago a customer ordered a Flame strap with butterscotch stitching, which at the time I wasn’t sure would work, but when I sttiched the strap I loved it. As a result, I’ve just completed a Flame strap with butterscotch stitching for myself and it looks great. I’d never considered butterscotch stitching with this leather (which just goes to show I am wrong occasionally!), but it works and looks so good with the tritium on my 24.

Heidrun

This is a leather that I found fairly recently and I adore it. It’s a little thinner than most of the leathers I use (Heidrun straps are around 3mm thick), but it is one that I would encourage everyone to consider. I wrote this blog post about it just after it was launched, and it’s hardly been off my “zero” over the last month or so.

Raven

A black leather with an antique finish, and has been my go to strap on my “233” for the last 6 weeks. I used black stitching on the strap for myself, and I think that looks best, but being a black leather any colour stitching will work. I’m so excited by this leather I wrote a blog post about it last month = Raven – the perfect black leather watch strap?

Sky Blue

Maybe it’s because the summer is on it’s way here, but I wanted something a little more colourful for my “zero” as an alternative to the Heidrun strap, and Sky Blue is the one I went for. I’ve used this leather for the last 10 years so it’s not new to me, but I hadn’t worn it for sometime and I think it’s fair to say I’ve fallen in love with it again. It’s thick and pliable and gets lots of positive comments.

Military Grey

Last but certainly not least is Military Grey. This is a very versatile leather that goes with just about any watch. Over the last 12 months it’s been the one I’ve chosen to wear with my 87 most of the time, and I strongly recommend it whenever anyone enquires about a grey leather. I always use natural stitching with this one when making straps for myself – given that it’s a light grey colour I prefer it with natural thread. It just had to be included in my list of personal favourites!
