Lemon is another of my favourite leathers. I realise this won’t be to everyone’s taste, but I think a bright coloured strap works so well sometimes, and this is perfect for the summer months. Lemon is a pure vegetable tanned leather with an analine stained surface. It’s a little thinner than standard (a Lemon leather strap will be approximately 3mm thick) but still able to hold it’s own on a big watch, like one of Panerai’s 47mm divers.

I tend to favour brown straps myself, but I was thinking about something a bit more colourful for my Panerai 305 recently and Lemon seemed a good choice. Now it’s finished and mounted I think this works well, and after wearing it for the weekend I’ve had a number of positive comments already. We’re finally getting a little sunshine in the UK, so I think this is a combination that will get worn more and more often over the next few months.

I normally make several suggestions for stitching colours that work well with the leathers I use, but with Lemon I think only white or natural (off-white) will really work. The strap shown in this post, and the strap shown on the Lemon leather page, are both stitched with white thread. White is my preference with this leather, but for those of you who fancy something a bit more daring you can see all the thread colours available on the stitching colours page.
