I’ve decided to do that again this year, so each month I will choose one of my personal favourites, and write a short blog post about it. For the month of February I have chosen probably my all-time favourite – Russian Tan.

I won’t mince my words here – this is a fabulous leather! I happened across it last summer (you can read my intro post about it here) and has very quickly become one of my best sellers.
Russian Tan is produced by a small artisan tannery that obtains the full grain deerskins directly from wildlife stewards who control deer populations in order to manage their habitats. The skins are put through a traditional vegetable tanning process before being stamped with a hatch pattern that is a throw back to Russia leather in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. It is a delight to work with, and I makes a wonderful watch strap. It really is something quite special.
